When placing an order on my Miva store, I receive an error like “unable to authorize card” or “cannot connect to secure.linkpt.com”.

This kind of error is usually caused by incorrect settings in your Linkpoint configuration within the Miva Admin. To find these settings, visit Store > Your Store name > Payment Configuration and click on the Cardservice/Linkpoint tab.

Make sure that “Test Mode” is not selected. This is a common cause for this error. The module must be in live mode to function with actual credit card numbers.

Also, check the Port number. As of 2005, Linkpoint’s port number is 1129. If you aren’t sure what the correct port number is, please contact your Linkpoint service provider for confirmation.
