SEO FAQs

1. What is SEO?

SEO is standard for Search Engine Optimization.  In a nut shell, it is the science and art of driving quality traffic to your website.  The strategies used in SEO increase your website’s exposure in search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc.). When someone types a keyword into a search engine, a highly optimized website relating to that keyword will appear closer to the top of the list of results. Since most people do not venture much beyond pages 1 and 2 of their search results, SEO is an important tool used to promote your website in those first pages.

2. What if my SEO campaign generates too much new business?

The first thing you need to know about SEO is that it is not an overnight process. You are not likely to suddenly see a huge spike in new business before you have time to prepare for it. SEO is usually a more gradual growth process that develops long-term results for a steady stream of online customers. It is important to have a business expansion plan in place, so that you are ready to grow your business when the customers come.

3. Can you guarantee a specific amount of new business?

Every industry and every website is different, so the SEO statistics will vary. We will drive customers to your website, and we can guarantee an increase in visibility of your site.  An SEO campaign is designed to rank your website high in Google and other search engines so that your website will be one of the first ones people see and visit. From there, it’s up to you to ensure that you have an attractive website (we can help here too!), an attractive product, and a good selling process.

4. Why SEO instead of a more traditional marketing/advertising campaign?

One of the best things about SEO is that you are only selling your product or service to people seeking out your product or service – the ideal customer is coming directly to you! With some other types of marketing campaigns, like direct mailing or print ads, you are targeting everyone, including many people who do not want or need your service. Plus, you may be missing the people who do want your service. And in the age of the Internet, there is no better place to be seen than on the first page of the top search engines.
