Miva Corporation recommends the following:
1) The “pack data files” utility should be used regularly. For very busy stores, this utility should be run at least once a week.
2) The “Delete Shopping Baskets” utility should be used regularly to clear old shopping baskets out of the database. When this utility is used, however, the “Recover Order Numbers” option should be set to “NO” to ensure that Miva will assign customers new order ids instead of potentially reusing older order ids.
3) Old order batches should be deleted regularly. To delete old batches, expand the batch and click the “Delete Batch” link underneath that batch. Click the “Delete” button on the right hand side of the screen to delete that batch and remove its associated orders from the Miva database files.
