Video is a compelling way to convey a message about your products to the customer. \u00a0Instead of reading, the visitor can hear someone talking about the product or they can see it in action, moving, and being used &#8211; like a live studio experience!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of statistics out there about video leading to higher conversion rates and sales on websites. \u00a0But I think intuitively, most business owners just understand that video is powerful. \u00a0It&#8217;s a great way to make an impression,&#8221; says Adam Levy of LDRK Media.<\/p>\n<h2>2. There is a standard layer of protection you should install in your e-commerce checkout that helps prevent common hacking attempts when sensitive information like credit card data is sent through a form. \u00a0This is known as SSL, a &#8220;security&#8221; certificate that is assigned by an authority such as Thawte, Geotrust, or Versign and encrypts information over the Web. \u00a0You can typically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webii.net\/ssl-order-form_new.html\">purchase your SSL certificate<\/a> from your web host, or from a trusted provider such as those I listed above. \u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webii.net\/web-hosting\/\">web host<\/a> will then install the SSL certificate to the server, and you will configure your shopping cart settings to &#8220;switch&#8221; to the SSL address when it goes to secure areas like the checkout page.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to test this out as if you are a customer. \u00a0Make sure the security lock shows up in your browser and no suspicious warnings appear about the SSL security. \u00a0If a warning appears, it could be an incorrect setting in your shopping cart, or it could be something silly like an image linked in your theme that is hardcoded with a non-secure address (HTTP: instead of HTTPS:). \u00a0When a visitor sees a secure lock and receives no warnings, they will feel safer.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Pictures of the product in use.<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_2359\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2359\" class=\"wp-image-2359 size-full lazyload\" title=\"example of a product use photo\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.webii.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/example-product-use-photo.jpeg\" alt=\"example of a product use photo\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.webii.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/example-product-use-photo.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/www.webii.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/example-product-use-photo-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.webii.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/example-product-use-photo-121x91.jpeg 121w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 500px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 500\/375;\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2359\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>A product use photo from RocktoRubber.com<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>A picture can be worth &#8220;a thousand words&#8221;, as they say. \u00a0Photos of your product in use could be the very thing that connects your customer with the concept. \u00a0Especially technical products may need a little more explanation for a potential customer to understand the need, and to be convinced it is the right solution for them. \u00a0A picture of the product being used for its intended purposes may be able to replace a wordy explanation. \u00a0Photos of a &#8220;real&#8221; person using the product also serve as a sort of undercover <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webii.net\/testimonials\/\">testimonial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Press.<\/h2>\n<p>If you are the best in your field, flaunt it.
