Data Transfer
In general, any outward bound traffic from a website with the exception of email is considered to be data transfer. For example, each time a web page or image is loaded, a file is downloaded from your web site (not uploaded), or when an video or audio file is requested by a visitor, that file is downloaded and data transfer is generated. Each account type has a limited amount of data transfer usage available. (For example, the data transfer threshold is 6000 MB per month with the Startup Plan.)
Our experience has shown that 2000MB/month will usually allot more than enough bandwidth for the average-sized website. (Web sites that might experience very high volumes of data transfer may have features such as Flash movies, various audio files, or adult content.) Transfer used over the amount allocated will be charged additional, or you can purchase blocks of MB in advance at a more affordable price.
