Encryption / Security
Mercantec products are among the most secure e-commerce solutions
available today. In addition to the standard SSL security offered
by most e-commerce solutions, the SoftCart product line uses public-private
key encryption* to secure both the credit card and the order information
the entire time that it is stored on the CSP's server.
With
Public-Private key encryption, the merchant maintains the key to
his orders on his own PC. This public/private key encryption technique
prevents any possibility of unsecured data being accessed by hackers.
It also helps protect CSPs against potential liability from in-house
personnel who have access to the server.
These
security features combine to give the merchant end-to-end security
throughout SoftCart's transaction environment.
